SPRA is a pet registration service dedicated to providing pet owners with a hassle-free way to register their pets. We understand the importance of keeping your pets safe and accounted for, which is why we strive to make the registration process as easy as possible. Our team is committed to delivering exceptional service and ensuring your pet's information is always up-to-date.
Our goal is to provide a low cost, honest and legitimate way for you to obtain registration for your dog. At the same time, we diligently keep all of your breeding records up to date. This is proving to be a tremendous value for our customers.
OUR HISTORY
It all began in the year 2000 when founder Lorna Blaylock, was one of many dog breeders in her community struggling to find reputable record keeping services outside of big named companies that charged a fortune. There was a huge dilemma during that time as to whether or not to try and do your own record keeping as well as bookkeeping, or pay some big company that you don't personally know to do it for you.
Ms. Blaylock began keeping digital logs of her bloodlines, lineage, personal breeding program, as well as doubling her AKC/UKC/ADBA records. Not only did she keep digital logs, she kept paper files as well. Noticing her gift of filing, storing, and organization, she offered her services to her sister-in-law, Rosa Blaylock. Albeit, without compensation, technically, Rosa was her first 'client'.
By the year 2008 Lorna was keeping records for 18 separate people, all family or friends from her dog community. And because she modestly charged for her services, the numbers just grew from there. so, she decided to do this professionally.
The numbers grew so large, that in 2014 she established her business as the Secure Pet Registry of America, with just over 200 members. The SPRA has been keeping registry and records for owners and breeders alike, since way back then.
